Advisory Board

Dr Chandra Vadhana R.

Dr Chandra Vadhana R. is a Founder Director and CEO of the Prayaana Group. She is a Fulbright Awardee and a Visiting Postdoc Fellow at the School of Humanities, Stanford University and is an accomplished social entrepreneur from India. She is currently working at the Gendered Innovations Lab, under the guidance of Prof. Londa Schiebinger from Jan 2022 – to Jan 2024. She has completed her MBA from the School of Management Studies, CUSAT (2004) and MSc (Applied Psychology) from the University of Madras (2009). She completed her PhD in Management from SMS, CUSAT which involved the standardization of a Psychometric tool for the assessment of managerial soft skills.

She is the first Indian woman to win special recognition for social entrepreneurship by UNCTAD Empretec Women in Business Awards, 2018. She is also a recipient of the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), a fully-funded leadership program by the US State Department (2019). She serves on the Advisory board for various Government bodies / Startups in India and engages as a consultant for UNCTAD for projects involving women in business. She is also a poet and has published two poetry books, The Girl in me (2019) and The woman in me (2021).

Message from Founder

A warm welcome from Dr. Chandravadhana, founder and CEO of Prayaana

As the founder of Prayaana, the message from the founder’s section should be filled with what’s in my mind. I saw the importance of creating a better future for women in our society. The goal of our program is to help women become more adaptable and successful in any field they choose. For years, women are often denied opportunities in society.

Yes, my own experience as a young and ambitious woman in patriarchy and customary societies can prove that women’s desires are often hindered.

I noticed numerous ladies who had been struggling to discover stability in their personal and professional lives. Prayaana fosters a clear environment. Above all, it keeps your passion and dreams healthy moreover it fosters one into a hardworking person. Causal, unable to flee on their own. Here women may fulfill their abilities, and advance their ideas. Sooner the women could realize their potential.

Most importantly, it will advance the career of housewives out there! Getting the title switched to “Earning-housewives” sounds satisfactory.

Prayaana is the conversion with a purpose to assist the kingdom flow ahead. It will secure generational equality in the next years. I aim to look at ladies’ development and make bigger within the enterprise they had been making plans for years. Having the right communication skills is true. Encouraging strategies in the platform will help them move ahead in the field.

And here, our Prayaana creates a welcoming foundation for understanding how and what happens in each area of the job.

I now have complete confidence that anyone who participates in Prayaana will never again live a life of servitude.
